The Prime Milestones
In 1816 C. M. S. The first academic college in Kerala was established in Kottayam by a missionary. Women's education was first promoted by the missionaries.
The first Western school was established in Kochi by Franciscan Priest. English education became popular with the arrival of the British.
The first bishop of Thiruvananthapuram Diocese, Vincent Derera, took over the administration, there were 2 high schools and 8 U. P. In 1952, in addition to the existing schools, 16 primary schools were merged into the archdiocesan corporate management when the coastal areas, which were under pastoral administration, were merged with the diocese.
In 1966, the Corporate Management Code was framed and approved by the Government. 58 schools, including 100-year-old schools, were functioning under corporate management.
In 1996, when the Diocese was divided into Neyyatinkara Diocese, 30 schools were transferred to Neyyatinkara Diocese out of a total of 58 schools under corporate management.
The 1997 priest and religious living together and second Vatican Council vision provided a new context, partnership mechanisms, and activities that helped to strengthen educational ministry activities.
