About the school
Vizhinjam was famous for its commerce and industry even before the birth of kerala as a state; During the dynasty of Chera-Chola, Kottappuram had a big fort to make the sea route travel easy and also to keep the weapons and food. It is in this place that our school is situated. During the time of Birtish, they had the trade with samoodiris in Vizhinjam. Not only this but also the famous Kuthirappanthi, cave temple and Oottukal paramb shows the history and importance of this small place.
In 1902 the school was run in a shed near the old church, after few years it was shifted to where the new church exists. Later the government recognized the school and in 1952 the school was seperated into L.P and U.P. The first Headmaster was Muttakad Cicil Nadar and the first student was Omana K Kadaikulam. Many of our students have created history and brought name and fame for the school.
Few among them are the film actor Vijayakumar, Singer Adolf Jerom, Doctors Bosco,Denson, Rugas etc. Under the guidance of the Headmaster Selvaraj Joseph there are 25 staff who render their service in an active and creative way.The total number of the students are 650. Boys 310 and girls 340.
