About the school
Nature is beautiful .. Greenery everywhere .. This small school established in 1890 is known as Mount Carmel LPS and also known as Kotuvila Vidyalaya.The school owns two acres of land in Vennicode.The first school in Vennicode area. A large number of persons from this area and the surrounding area were educated in this school established by Christian missionaries.
Knowledge is the wealth that has shown every
person the steps of heights and reached the goal. A grand mango tree is in the school yard to remember forever. There is not a single child who does not run and play around it.This school is in Vettoor panchayat of Varkala block.It is under the Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram (RC School, Vellayambalam) and today stands as Vennicode Parish School.
There is no wall around
the school. The school provides free quality, actionoriented and value-based education from grades 1 to 4. It has a spacious playground and library which is well stocked with books. Four teachers including the HM are performing the class duties. Pre-primary education is also provided. With the establishment of new schools around, the glory of this school faded away. The number of children started to decrease.
Along with imparting quality education, the teachers also thought of changing the infrastructure according to the changing times.Mr. Lingson Gomez constructed a new building for the KG section as part of the renovation of the school during the Corona crisis.As the KG has a new building, more children are taking admission in the KG section.
