About the school
Kochuveli St. Joseph's LP School is a primary school established in 1951 with the aim of social development of Kochuveli and its surrounding areas, a tourist village in Thiruvananthapuram district.This school which was uneconomic for 17 years, after three years of hard work by the Parish priest, parishioners, headmaster, teachers and little flower convent sisters is progressing as a center of excellence in the year 2023- 24.
St. Joseph's LPS is very well run small school. There is a park for the children to play. Also there is a ground suitable for playing football and shuttle. And the convenient mess hall changes the face of the school itself. Separate bathroom facilities for boys and girls are provided so that children can use them as per their requirement. Adequate light, fan, ventilation, black board, white board, benches and desks, are provide in the class rooms.
Computer are also set up to be used from KG to 5th class. The school is progressing very much due to the joint efforts of the parishioners and teachers.Pre Primary is also functioning. Most of the students studying in this school are the children of wage labourers and common people. The school is functioning in a two storey building with 10 class rooms on a land of one and half acres. Five permanent teachers including the headmaster and one computer teacher are serving.
With the cooperation of the public, expatriates and alumni,work is being done to provide better physical conditions as part of the public education protection campaign. Activities are being planned and implemented with the aim of main streaming.
