About the school
R near Peringamala Junction, on the south side of Karshika College Road, comes within the jurisdiction of Kalliyoor Panchayat. The school was founded by Shri Marsillamani from Nedumpongu Vilayil, in the year 1903. Since the time of his and his family's untimely death from a lightning strike, the place also became known as Idiveenavila. R.C. Church Vicar, Rev.Father Justin (Belgium) was entrusted with the school due to socio-economic reasons, during the tenure of Shri M. Justus as the Headmaster.
The two classes Fr. Justin used to conduct close to the church, were later joined to the new school and R.C.L.P.S took form. On one occasion, when one of the families living near the school's front area was affected by small pox, the school was temporarily moved to the old L.M.S. Church.Towards the school's development, apart from getting 15 cents of land from Justus Sir's son, Stevenson, at a very low price, the school also received half the price of the land from Archbishop Soosa Pakiam as a donation. The first Headmaster, M. Justus, and the first student, S. K. Surendrapanikkar, played crucial roles in the school's initial stages. Doctors C.Sudhevan, Jayan, Sunil Dath, K.S.F.E. Manager S. K. Ashokan, engineers John Victor, Simon, and Rajesh,are former students of the school.The classes here range from Nursery to Fourth grade. In the academic year 2023-2024, there are 169 students undergoing their studies. Mrs. Annamma A, the Headmistress of this institution, along with 9 teachers, are dedicatedly providing their services.
