About the school
This school is located in an area called Puthukuruchi in the Grama Panchayath of Kadinamkulam, in Kazhakoottam block of Thiruvananthapuram district and is named after Saint Micahael the Arch angel. An U.P. School was founded in 1919 by community philanthropist Mr. Jerome Peneira,roughly midway between the Kadinamkulam backwater to the east, the Arabian sea in the west the Kadinamkulam Mahadeva Temple in the south,and the our Lady of Mercy Convent in the North.School started in 1950, and was taken over by the Puthukuruchy Parish. It was upgraded to High School in 1982. This effort was spearheaded by Alfred Fernandez. He was also able to hold the title of Headmaster for thirty long years.
In the year 1997 the school has won the trophy for the aided school with the highest number of points in Kaniyapuram subdistrict Yuvajanolsavam and the rolling trophy for the best school at the Eureka Vijnanotsavam in the same year. Won the sub-junior Championship in 2 0 0 6 - 2 0 0 7 a t t h e R e v e n u e d i s t r i c t A r t s Competition. In the academic year 2014-2015, the school won the rolling trophy in the RC school inter school football competition.Prem Nasir, the evergreen hero of Malayalam Cinema and his younger brother Prem Nawaz has completed education in this school.
